Cloudberry Compote is made from cloudberries ? one of the most treasured wilderness berries harvested from rural Mid-northern Canada and Alaska. Cloudberries are related to the raspberry, but are larger and taste like a mixture of passion fruit and apricot. Our compote makes an exquisite preserve on toast, fresh bread or cheese. Cloudberries possess, perhaps, the most complex flavor of any berry and serves as the perfect compliment to chocolate desserts. It is excellent in a pie comprised of 80% apple mixed with 20% cloudberry, or try it with wild game.
